How JoRoute works
Plain answers to the question you should ask about any job site: is it legit?
What JoRoute is
JoRoute is a free, independent website for people in the United States looking for work, changing careers or adding income. It is not an employer, a staffing agency or a government website, and it is not affiliated with the employers whose listings it shows.
Where the jobs come from
- Only from employers' own official job boards, through the public interfaces those boards publish (Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby). Federal jobs, when shown, come from USAJOBS, the U.S. government's official job site. JoRoute does not copy listings from other job sites.
- Every listing names its source and links to the employer's own application page. You apply there, not on JoRoute.
- Pay ranges, job types and locations are shown exactly as the employer published them. When the employer did not say, JoRoute says "not stated" instead of guessing.
How long a listing stays
- JoRoute re-checks each employer board twice a day.
- When a listing is missing from a complete check, it is marked "Not in latest refresh" and applying through JoRoute is paused. When a later check confirms it is gone, it leaves search.
- Every listing leaves JoRoute 20 days after it first appears here, even if the employer still shows it, so you are not sent to stale jobs. Removed listings are deleted 90 days after removal.
What JoRoute never does
- Charge job seekers anything.
- Ask for your Social Security number, bank details, ID documents or a payment to see or apply for a job.
- Apply, send messages or submit anything in your name.
- Sell your data or show third-party advertising. Privacy
How JoRoute is funded
JoRoute is free to use. Some pages carry a partner link that pays JoRoute a commission — today, a link to Remote Rocketship, a paid remote-job service, on the remote-job pages, shown after JoRoute's own free listings. Each one says so right next to the link ("Paid link: JoRoute earns a commission if you subscribe through this link"), and any listing an employer pays for would be marked "Sponsored", as the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides expect. Paid links never change which jobs you see or the order of search results, and no employer can pay to remove a warning.
Report a problem
- A job scam or fake recruiter: report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov. Internet crime can also be reported to the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
- Discrimination in hiring: the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission explains how to file a charge; the deadline is generally 180 calendar days, 300 in many states.
- A wrong or broken listing on JoRoute: write to hello@joroute.com.
JoRoute's checks and guidance are general information, not legal advice or a legal finding about any employer.
