What JoRoute provides, what it does not promise, and what we ask of you. Plain English, because you should be able to read it.

What JoRoute is
JoRoute is a free website that helps people in the United States find work, check a job offer for warning signs, and find paths to more income. It is free to use and most of it works without an account. You may optionally create a profile; it needs no password and no e-mail address.
JoRoute is not an employer, a staffing or recruiting agency, a government website, a law firm or a financial adviser, and it is not affiliated with the employers whose listings it shows. Nothing on JoRoute is legal, financial, tax or medical advice. For advice about your own situation, speak to a qualified professional.
What JoRoute does not promise
These limits are stated plainly because a job search is a decision with real consequences, and you should know exactly how much weight to put on what you read here.
- No job, interview or outcome is promised. JoRoute cannot get you hired and makes no claim about your chances.
- Job listings come from employers' own boards and from USAJOBS, shown as those sources publish them. JoRoute does not write, verify or endorse them, and cannot guarantee a listing is current, accurate, still open or genuine. Always apply through the official link on the listing, and never pay anyone to get a job.
- A scam check is information, not a verdict. Check a job offer applies fixed rules to the text you paste. A low-risk result is not a guarantee that an offer is genuine, and a warning is not an accusation or a legal finding about any employer. Use it as one input to your own judgement — and if something feels wrong, trust that.
- Pay, benefit and law figures come from official sources with the date they were checked. Rates and rules change; the official source always wins over anything shown here. Each page links to it.
- The site may be unavailable, incomplete or wrong. JoRoute is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.
What we ask of you
- Use JoRoute lawfully, and for your own job search or research.
- Do not scrape, bulk-download or systematically copy listings or pages, and do not use automated tools to hammer the site. A feed is provided at /jobs.rss — please use it instead.
- Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, other people's profiles, or anything behind it.
- Do not use JoRoute to post, send or collect anything unlawful, deceptive or harmful to others.
- Do not present JoRoute as yours, or imply JoRoute endorses you, your service or your listing.
- If you report a listing or contact us, please be accurate. Reports are read by people.
JoRoute's own words, design, code and compiled data are the owner's. Job listings and government data remain the property of their sources and are shown under those sources' terms — see How JoRoute works and Editorial policy.
Your data and your profile
What JoRoute stores, why, and for how long is set out in the privacy notice, which forms part of these terms. In short: anything you save is yours, you can delete it at any time, it is never sold, and there is no third-party advertising or tracking. Clearing your browser cookies loses access to a profile but does not delete it — use Delete my profile for that.
JoRoute may suspend or remove access, or remove content, where it is necessary to protect the site or other people — for example automated abuse. Where it is practical and lawful to say so, we will say why.
Paid links and links to other sites
Some pages carry a partner link that pays JoRoute a commission. Each is labelled "Paid link" directly next to it, and no payment ever changes which jobs you see, their order, or any warning. How JoRoute is funded is set out in full at How JoRoute works.
JoRoute links to employers, government agencies and other companies. Those sites are not ours: their content, terms and privacy practices are their own, and a link is not an endorsement. Read their terms before you rely on them or hand over anything.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, JoRoute and its owner are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost earnings or lost opportunity arising from your use of the site, from any listing or third-party site reached through it, or from the site being unavailable or in error.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for fraud, for fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.
If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
Changes to these terms
These terms may change as the site changes. The date at the top shows the last update, and the current version always lives at this address. Continuing to use JoRoute after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be noted on How JoRoute works.
