Why a job is on this page: The job title names a healthcare or caregiving occupation — nurse, medical assistant, caregiver, therapist, social worker and similar — or a USAJOBS health-occupation search returned it, meaning the U.S. Office of Personnel Management classified it into a health occupational series. The title only: a posting that merely mentions healthcare in its text is not counted. This does not prove a job is legitimate — check any offer before sharing personal data.

What to know before you apply

Healthcare and social assistance is projected to add more than 2.2 million jobs by 2035 — about 37% of all new U.S. jobs, more than any other industry sector (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Healthcare support is the fastest-growing of the 22 major occupational groups (+13.3%), with healthcare practitioners and technical occupations second (+8.0%) and community and social service fourth (+7.4%) (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics).
Many of these roles need a state licence or certification. Confirm what your state requires with its own licensing board before paying for any course — and remember that an honest employer never asks you to pay to be hired (FTC).
Registered apprenticeships exist in healthcare support occupations too: you earn a wage while you train (U.S. Department of Labor).
