Description

Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals. As a Field Manager on Via’s Operations team in the UK , you are the force that keeps our services running reliably for the communities that depend on them. This is a high-ownership, boots-on-the-ground role where you’ll lead the daily operations of our Westlink service, tackle real-time challenges, and ensure our riders are transported safely and on time. This is an in-person position with the expectation that you will be onsite at least 3 days per week. About the Role: • Run daily onsite operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible transportation for our riders. • Partner with a broad, cross-functional team to develop and scale the processes, systems, and tools that drive continuous optimization and support rapid growth. • Make real-time decisions on fleet, driver supply, compliance, rider needs, and unexpected issues - using data to quickly diagnose problems and keep service running smoothly. • Guide and support drivers, building strong relationships and coaching toward stronger performance in the field. • Turn rider and community feedback into concrete changes by spotting patterns and addressing root causes. • Act as the bridge between Via’s partners, drivers, and Via central teams, keeping everyone informed with clear, timely updates and resolving questions quickly. About You: • Operationally experienced in people management, logistics, customer service, or other process-oriented work. • Relationship-oriented and a confident communicator who builds trust with drivers, riders, teammates, and city partners, adapting their message and tone to each stakeholder, whether that’s partners, customers, or driver colleagues from diverse backgrounds. • Hands-on and proactive, comfortable taking responsibility for employees, being in the field, and solving problems where they happen, even under pressure. • Analytically savvy and structured, using data and digital tools to prioritize effectively and improve our services. • Tactical and strategic, able to tackle issues in real time while thinking ahead and building solutions that prevent them from recurring. • Fluent in English. • Valid driver’s license in the UK, class B. • Nice to have, but not required: Completed Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) training and Qualified Transport Manager status would be a plus, as would experience in fixed-line bus operations. Compensation and Benefits: • Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good. • Salary Range: £40,000–£45,000. Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills. • Comprehensive health scheme offered through AXA. • Partnership with YellowNest, a salary exchange benefit that helps reduce childcare fees for working parents. • Cycle to Work Scheme - multiple options via Green Commute Initiative (GCI). There has never been a more exciting time to be on the cutting edge of public mobility. Ready to join the ride? Via is an equal opportunity employer. #LI-RB1
